Cur Síos:When analyzing Western artistic manifestations of the past sixty years, is possible to comprehends why the theoretical discussion about the death of art was so well received during the twentieth century, and to show the reasons that have generated such diverse reinterpretations of Hegelian propositions regarding the death of art. To carry out this theoretical-conceptual analysis, both canonical perspectives and lesser-known ones were considered, to provide a broad vision of the topic, while attempting to establish conceptual relationships between the theories about the end of art in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and some manifestations of postmodern artistic phenomena, that encourage these reflections. In the end is proposed the replacement of the concept of work of art, associated with more traditional art, with other concepts that are considered more appropriate to describe the postmodern plastic phenomenon.
