Description:Motivated by two scandals of corruption (CCSS-Fischel and ICE-Alcatel), this article studies some theoretical approaches that may contribute to our understanding of corruption in the contracts between the State and private sector. First, some conceptual precisions are made. Then, socioinstitutional conditions that facilitates corruption are analyzed. Finally, there are some reflections about the political implications of corruption, and some suggestions of measures in order to reduce our social vulnerability to this phenomenon.
