| Περιγραφή: | This article analyzes headlines from Costa Rican newspapers with the intention of exploring aspects of Costa Rican society and culture. This study shows how figures of speech such as metaphors, similes, hyperboles and personifications are recurrent images in Costa Rican newspapers. In addition, the headlines used in this paper present a clear image of what is important or pertinent in Costa Rica. Images such as violence and war, death, food, skill, beauty, communication, animals, and even mythology are common and recurrent ideas that are seen in newspaper headlines from this country. For this reason, newspaper headlines are an interesting insight into Costa Rican society and culture. |
