| Diğer Bilgiler: | Introduction: This article is constructed within the framework of Workshop VI: Analysis and Design of Social Services II, of the undergraduate degree in Social Work at the University of Costa Rica during the year 2023. It places the importance of the social policy of aging and old age to guide the municipal work in the care of the older adult population [PAM]. Main objective: To explore the role played by the National Policy on Aging and Old Age [PNEV] in the local space, from the Municipality of San Pablo de Heredia [MSPH], Costa Rica, during the year 2023. Method and technique: The research is qualitative and exploratory. The information gathering techniques developed were the bibliographic and documentary review, the application of interviews and a survey with a non-probabilistic sample. Results: The survey applied to PAM shows different age ranges and that a majority are women. There is a small number of people who have been part of the design and development of policies, parallel to the self-perception of not having access to any form of participation in the canton. However, the majority of the surveyed population wishes to participate in different spaces. Conclusion: The PNEV defines a starting point and a path for meeting the needs of the elderly. It should guide the development of the MSPH's actions so that they are comprehensive, articulated and congruent with the reality of the local population. |
