Disgrifiad:Non-Hodgkin lymphomas are originated from mature lymphocytes B, T and natural killers (NK). There is a rare, less frequent subtype that develops from NK cells and T cytotoxic cells denominated “Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type”. This subtype usually affects men, in Latin America and Southeast of Asia. Mean age of presentation is 40-50 years. It is characterized by a rapid progression and destruction of midline structures. B symptoms are rare(1-5). Diagnosis is made based on the pathological anatomy and immunohistochemistry positive for NK/T cells markers and the presence of Epstein Barr virus(7, 8). Treatment requires a multidisciplinary management between hematology and otorhinolaryngology. The prognosis depends on the tumor stage at the moment the diagnosis is make and the presence of risk factors(5).
