Description:The following research aims to describe the mechanisms of power and control used in Osorno during the military dictatorship period. The military coup d’état in September 11th in 1973 and the establishment of a seventeen-year dictatorship in Chile, was an event that marked the Chilean society. During those times, it was tried to bend the truth about the violent acts performed against all the opponents of the Military Regime. Systematic violations of Human Rights, segregation, social inequality, establishment of the neoliberal system, among others; are just some of the main effects, which were supported by  a variety of control mechanisms used by the Chilean State.
