| Descrizione: | Based on newspaper and documentary sources, this work analyzes the scientific arguments that arose between the Costa Rican liberals and clerics during the episcopate of Monsignor Thiel, in the context of the institutionalization of the scientific activities in Costa Rica during the last two decades of the 19th century. Furthermore, this work addresses the contributions made by several members of the clerical society to the institutionalization process. |
