Descrizione:The following work is part of the perspective of the life course and had as its main objective to analyze life trajectories of senior people ranging from 60 years old and above - residents of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires -, who find or found themselves going through a situation of problematic consumption. In addition, it analyzed whether these behaviors are associated with certain specific transitions and/or inflection points. To this end, a qualitative methodology was chosen oriented by a descriptive-explanatory research design. It is a case study, based on an intentional sample that enabled, through conducting in-depth interviews, to reconstruct five biographical trajectories. The results show that consumptions have early initiation, the development of which relates - directly or indirectly - to evolutionary, labor, health and/or family transitions as well as turning points linked to separations and the loss of loved ones.
