الوصف:Studying and understanding the differences between the cardiovascular system of decapod crustaceans, particularly Penaeids, and of vertebrates and their implications has gained growing interest given their immune function and physiological activities. The overall hemolymph path is presented here, along with histological descriptions of the different organs, as well as the details of their structures in healthy juvenile and adult specimens of Penaeus vannamei, in sections of tissues processed using routine techniques. In addition, the heart, arteries, lymphoid organ, gills, lacunas, and hemal sinuses are described. A non-exhaustive review of associated operating and control mechanisms is also included, based on information obtained through bibliographic consultations on studies conducted under normal conditions. Average heart rate values are included in the different stages of development, as well as values of arterial volume and pressure.
