Descripción:This article offers an aesthetic-political analysis of the electoral campaign carried out by Partido Progreso Social Democrático during the second round of the 2022 elections in Costa Rica. The objective is to demonstrate how the affective dimensions of voters are influenced through an aesthetic structure within the candidate’s discourse. In this context, the article explores the risks involved in the instrumentalization of human aisthesis , drawing on Walter Benjamin’s critique of the aestheticization of politics, as well as Terry Eagleton’s argument regarding the internal influence exerted on individuals by dominant ideology. Consequently, this text emphasizes the importance of aesthetics in the study of political and social phenomena, presenting this human dimension as a key factor in rational decision-making and political action.
