| Opis: | The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between physical abilities, oxidative damage by AP site, and the identification of the NRF2 gene in women during a Crossfit competition. Methods: the sample consisted of seven women who participated in the "Crossfit Games open" whose aerobic capacity, and maximum strength was assessed, as well as oxidative damage by quantification of AP sites and the identification of the NRF2 gene. Before and at the end of the competition, measurements of physical capacities and blood extraction were made. For the next five weeks, the Crossfit Games open was held and during this period, the participants did their regular 4-day training. Results: Only leg strength showed a significant difference between before and after (p=0.037). In the NRF2 gene, a good size and intensity were observed in the initial measurement for the final one. Conclusion: Crossfit competition does not alter aerobic capacity, arm, and trunk strength, or the number of AP sites. Concerning the NRF2 gene, it is necessary to carry out more studies to assess its expression due to the effect of training. |
