Descripción:This essay presents an analysis of the construction process of the poetry book Umbral del colibrí. 99 tanatonautas poems (2023) by Costa Rican writer Magda Zavala. To support the theoretical bases, the study is based on ideas, mainly for the modern context, of Hernández, Nieto, Borges, Fernández, among others. It also uses Greco-Latin references from authors such as Parmenides, Thales of Miletus, Pythagoras, Cicero and Lucretius. The philological analysis concentrates on the poems “Renombrando” and “XXXVI”. As part of the results, Zavala starts not only from the cosmic journey or transition, in 2021, of her partner of first youth, the Frenchman Raphaël Souchier, to whom she dedicates her book, but also develops a research process around mysticism, with the purpose of shaping an aesthetic notion around death as a journey, between dimensions of the existing.
