Descrição:This article analyzes the structural and systemic determinants that condition the socio-educational reintegration of Costa Rican women who regain their freedom in Costa Rica. In this country, there have been significant efforts since 2016, generated by governmental institutions which have recognized in this post-release phase the importance of assisting women in their life project as a critical moment to prevent recidivism. Accompanying them during this stage is key to achieving a successful path, but numerous challenges arise: the weight of social stigma, the stereotypes associated with life in freedom, and the harsh judgment of a 'tainted' criminal record—aspects that hinder their true return to the communities.
