Opis:This article is based on a four-month period report of the Program of Conjunctural Analysis of the Costa Rican Society, from the Sociology Department of the National University, Costa Rica. The research exposes, through a rigorous analysis of the national press and institutional reports, the progressive tendency of dismantlement and deterioration of the public and democratic institutionality that has historically distinguished Costa Rica in the Central American region, as well as it analyzes the growingly tense and belligerent relations between the powers of the Republic during the administration of Rodrigo Chaves Robles and the polarization that this conflict has brought about.
