Popis:Implementing environmental management in university campuses is a tendency that is extending to many universities inAmerica. The UNA-Sustainable Campus Program of the National University of Costa Rica is a good example; it is in charge of carrying out different actions to fulfill the environmental policy of this public higher education institution. Its methodology is based on a Participatory Model of Environmental Management through the creation of Environmental Commissions. This article reflects on the challenges and future perspectives of this experience so it can become a replicable lesson to other universities.
