Beschreibung:Teaching-learning processes are a matter of enormous profusion both in terms of theory and practice. Nonetheless, among the teaching strategies used by the teacher, two types can clearly be distinguished: classic or content-focused and focused on skills training. The hypothesis of this study is that the use of teaching strategies oriented to competencies will result in a higher rate of academic success as well as a relative rise in the ratings. For this purpose, a quantitative comparison between the performance obtained by a group of students of the subject Grammar IV, in which the teacher used strategies based on the content and compared them with another group of students who attended the same subject with the other quarter was performed, but where this same teacher used teaching strategies based on skills training. The results suggest that the use of teaching strategies oriented to competencies improve the performance of the students in both written and oral assessments, even when the assessment are content based.
