实物特征:This study encompasses one of the works produced by the Guatemalan writer Rodrigo Rey Rosa. It is named Los sordos, and it was first published in 2012. This proposal is based on textual semiotics ideas, and particularly based on the contributions of Iuri M. Lotman and his concept about the semiosphereas “semiotics continuum.” Guatemala is described as a bipartite division. On the one hand, the city, as a representation of the main power and order. On the other hand, the countryside, that is seen as the periphery. Under these precepts, the concept of deafness presented in this text has different symbolic meanings in the individual, political, and social field.
