Beskrivelse:The objective of this research is to verify if there is a relationship between belonging to a native people and the results obtained by the schools in the Personal and Social Development Indicators (IDPS). The methodology used is a quantitative ex post facto, non-experimental, cross-sectional correlational study. The sample is n=154,859 students, equivalent to 75.9% of the total enrollment of the La Araucanía region divided into 534 educational establishments. The data are extracted from the Open Data Base of the Chilean Ministry of Education. The results show that there is a significant relationship between the percentage of Mapuche students in the educational establishments with the results obtained in the four factors of the IDPS; and there are significant differences in the IDPS according to the percentage (low or high) of Mapuche students. In conclusion, the positive relationship indicates that the higher the percentage of indigenous students, the higher the scores on the IDPS.
