Cur Síos: | This study aimed to detect Trypanosoma cruzi kDNA from paraffin-embedded cardiac tissue in eighteen dogs with myocarditis which presented sudden death and /or signs suggestive of canine trypanosomiasis. The PCR was positive in 7 dogs with myocarditis and amastigotes of T. cruzi and in 11 dogs with myocarditis but with no evidence of parasites. Clinical and pathological findings in these canines are described. |
