Opis:Objective. Was to carry out a critical analysis of part of the content of the History, Geography, and Social Sciences textbook in order to reveal whether Western-European knowledge is promoted to the detriment of the knowledge of the native cultures of America. Method. The study was carried out from an interpretative approach, using as methodology the discursive analysis on part of the content presented in the 8th-grade History, Geography, and Social Sciences textbook, used in the last four years. Results. Allowed identifying seven categories around a central category called the predominant thinking in the teaching of history at school. Conclusions. It is concluded that the textbook of history has a Eurocentric imprint when it comes to addressing the contents referring to the arrival of Europeans to the continent and their interaction and presentation of the American aboriginals.
