Περιγραφή:This article analyzes the treatment given by Briceida Cuevas Cob to the sun and the moon as temporary markers in everyday life and anthropomorphized characters under the mythological aspect. First, a preamble will be made on indigenous literature and peninsular Maya. Next, there will be a discussion on time and the theory-praxis of indigenous territoriality, which leads to a reflection on memory. Then, in Cuevas Cob’s poetry, it will be about the path of the two celestial stars, the passage of time and the constitution of the memory of everyday life. The Popol Vuh will be used to understand the existence of the current sun and moon as a Mayan cosmological principle. Furthermore, in Cuevas Cob’s work it will be seen how these stars acquire different characteristics in terms of the human body and agency. Finally, we will make some final considerations on space-time memory in Cuevas Cob’s poetry.
