| Beskrivelse: | This study is both an analysis and an interpretation of translation-related problems, based on the essays and poetic work of the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges. It primarily considers three texts of diverse nature and origin: Edward FitzGerald’s translation of the Rubáiyát by Omar Khayyám, an essay by Borges about that translation, and the poem “Rubaiyát,” also by Borges. The study leads to reflections on translation and the literary and linguistic device prosopopeia. |
