Descripción:The article analyzes the intersections between religion and sexual diversity in Costa Rica based on the experience of Espacio Seguro, a group of LGBTIQ+ Catholics. The aim of the study was to understand how the key milestones, meanings, and challenges in the historical development of this religious organization are remembered. During the research, in-depth interviews were conducted with one of the founders and a member of the group, as well as with a priest who has openly demonstrated his support for this initiative. The results were cross-checked with documentary sources provided by the leadership of the community under study.
