Описание:This study analyzes the contrast between the conclusions provided by several international female academic productions and the life working experience communicated by four Costa Rican professional women in the development and analysis of videogames. The research encompasses the professional working conditions in the videogame industry for women. The investigation departs from a qualitative approach, with a descriptive scope. Furthermore, it uses the phenomenological method. The data analyzed comes from audiovisual productions and selected articles from countries in Latin America, Europe and the United States.  It also includes 4 in-depth interviews with young professional women in the sector. The results indicate that in spite of some advance in inclusive measurements for women and other social collectivities, there are still maintained conditions and practices which are affecting and limiting the professional development of women.  Such practices can be found both in the so-called “first world” and in the Costa Rica´s emerging environment. Some possible guidelines are highlighted in order to revert this tendency.
