Description:This article presents the main results of the analysis of a corpus of politically-oriented memes and digital news. Its objective is to identify the most common structures and contents of the corpus. Analysis categories such as Bateman’s layers and Vergara’s image categories, and Daly and Unsworth’s logical-semantic relationships and others of our own were used. It is concluded that although some elements coincide in both genres, the logical-semantic relationships, the structures and the proportions of these components respond to the level of explicitness and to the communicative objective of each genre.
