实物特征:This article explains how the behaviour of the Costa Rican clergy and the actions carried out by the Holy See around the political-electoral processes were a legitimizing factor of the order established in Costa Rica between 1921 and 1936. The article is one more sample of the collaborations between the Catholic hierarchy and the rulers of the country, in the particular case of the support that the Catholic leadership gave to the electoral elections and the established order. This shows that the secularization process that was tried to carry out in Costa Rica was not one of rupture and distancing between the two powers, but something more complex and unique. The proposed study was carried out thanks to the qualitative analysis of the sources consulted from the various Vatican archives, ecclesiastical archives of San José and Alajuela and the National Library.
