Geomorphological mapping of the municipalities of Guaraciaba do Norte and Carnaubal, in the state of Ceará, Brazil

| Disgrifiad: | This study analyzes the importance of the municipalities of Guaraciaba do Norte and Carnaúbal, both located in the sedimentary plateau of Ibiapaba, in the northwest portion of the state of Ceará. That being said, the objective was to map the relief compartments, indicating the models and the dissection index of them using a scale of 1:300,000, in order to highlight the current state of the re- lief of the area. In this perspective, it presents aspects of geomorphological cartography, emphasiz- ing its importance for geoform studies and for environmental planning. We adopted the theoretical and methodological proposal of Ross’ geomorphological mapping (1990) based on the taxonomic analysis of the relief inspired by the conceptions of morphometry and morphological sculpture. Four morphological and sculptural subunits were mapped with flattening and denudation patterns, which presented dissection index of the relief varying between weak and moderate, that is, areas in some way in equilibrium even with elevation and slope with high values. It is concluded the diversity of forms of relief which reflect in the scenery of the landscapes. |
