Description:This essay analyzes the reaction of Costa Rica to the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), when two groups emerged, one in favor and one against of Spanish nationalists. But because of Spain’s support for the “eje” of nations during the Second World War, the Costa Rican government condemned support for Spain.
