| Diğer Bilgiler: | Bajo la sombra del uniforme is a testimonial novel written by Marvin Reyes, also known as “Siniestro”, a sociopolitical actor of postwar El Salvador. Reyes’s testimony, as a former member of the Policía Nacional Civil, makes it possible to explore the criminal, institutional, and subjective aftermath of the Salvadoran Civil War. From a biographical approach, this article brings the text and Reyes’s voice into dialogue with analytical categories related to memory, postwar processes, and police violence. The testimonial analysis addresses two key dimensions in the literary work: the being and the doing of the police. This content analysis makes it possible to examine the failure of the civil-democratic project of policing during the early years of the violent postwar period. |
