Descripció:Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, educational strategies had to be implemented to respond to the challenges in Costa Rica. The goal of this research is to analyze the emotional experiences of students from the History and Dance majors of the National University (UNA), Costa Rica in the educational process of Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT) because of the pandemic, in the years 2020-2021. The analysis was guided by three categories: experiences, emotions, and perceptions. Using a qualitative methodology and a phenomenological design, six students from each major were interviewed. Some results regarding the experiences were an increase in academic load, flexibility of schedules, and social disengagement. Regarding the emotions, stress, anxiety, frustration, loneliness and disappointment were mentioned. The main finding is the impact of the interaction between the environment and the student body, as well as the primary role of emotions in the construction of said perceptions.
