Descripció:Cárcel de árboles (1991) tells the story of the experiment that Dr. Pelcari performs on a group of prisoners, in the Guatemalan jungle, and for which she subjects men to brain surgeries that strip them of their ability to speak and think. In this nouvelle, the body as text, writing and orality are established as marks of a multiple language that seeks to metaphorize the violent history of Guatemala. I am interested in analyzing and explaining the problem of the representation of vio-lence in literature in connection with these multiple forms of language present in the nouvelle.
