Descripció:Abstract [Introduction]: Tectona grandis L.f is the species mostly cultivated in Costa Rica so the selection of genotypes with superior characteristics is of utmost importance to maximize the genetic and economic potential of teak forest plantations in Costa Rica. [Objective]: To identify the best genotypes and determine genetic parameters at three different sites at the age of 24 months. [Methodology]: The research was conducted in the cantons of San Carlos, Nicoya and Abangares for which three randomized complete block trials were established. Periodic measurements of DBH and total height were made for each clone and soil samples were taken at each site to determine the influence of edaphic conditions. [Results]: The clones with the best yield were 20, 25, 18, 2 and 3, which showed higher total quality volume at 24 months in San Carlos. Genetic parameters indicate high variability of mean clone and plot heritability, as well as high environmental variation. [Conclusions]: The clonal set had higher growth in San Carlos > Nicoya >Abangares. Genetic parameters were better expressed in San Carlos and not expressed in Nicoya and Abangares at the evaluated age.
