| Descripció: | The study analyzes prosodic variation among Costa Rican, Chilean, and Costa Rican speakers residing in Chile, and focuses on fundamental frequency (F0) and pitch range. Based on a theoretical framework on prosody and dialectal variation, it employs acoustic analysis using Praat to examine 180 audio recordings collected in formal and informal contexts. Results show greater tonal variability in Chileans and immigrants, while Costa Ricans exhibit more uniform tones. The study concludes that dialectal contact and the migratory context influence linguistic adaptation, highlighting pitch range as a key indicator of sociolinguistic integration in Costa Rican immigrants. |
