Description:This article discusses why the situation of migration for Central American children and young people to the United States of America and the declared humanitarian crisis should begin with a review of the structural conditions affecting the population in the region. The poor public social investment in children and adolescents as well as the various forms of violence perpetrated against them in the region are two very indispensable elements for this analysis. By not considering these elements it would lead us to identify only reactive actions to an issue that requires comprehensive strategies for the short, medium and long term.
