Miêu tả:The article addresses some manifestations of violence experienced in Nicaragua between 1980 and 1983, focusing on those involving the Miskito population in the Caribbean region of the country. The main objective is to highlight the struggle processes initiated more forcefully by this indigenous population due to the impositions of the new Sandinista government, which aimed for cultural homogenization. For this, it is crucial to examine the period encompassing the transition between the Sandinista Revolution and the Contra War. Methodologically, a qualitative content analysis was conducted on the Costa Rican newspaper La República. Additionally, oral accounts from Miskitos residing in Rincón Grande de Pavas in San José, Costa Rica, were fundamental to complement and deepen the editorial narrative. Lastly, the main findings shed light on the struggle processes that emerged to free the population from the oppressions suffered during this transitional period and emphasize their impact on historical, sociocultural, and political levels.
