Description:The objective of this article is to propose a management model for the creation of a tour guide cooperative in Costa Rica that will provide them with a business opportunity by collaborating in their socioeconomic and labor development. The methodology gathers data obtained from the application of surveys to the guild and interviews with experts in cooperativism. In addition, the results offer a diagnosis of the tourist guide and the type of cooperative to be formed according to their interests and participatory intentions. Finally, the analysis recommends that the proposal brings benefits for tour guides, their families, the communities and tourism in the country.
