| תיאור: | Introduction: Chirripó National Park has been subject to climatic changes reflecting location, as well as geological, geomorphological, ecological and edaphic characteristics. Objective: To identify the factors that have modulated the climate in the high peaks of Costa Rica. Methods: A literature review in Google Scholar during September 2021. Results: The subject has been studied by geology, geomorphology, palynology and geography, reconstructing the climate during the Last Glacial Maximum, approximately 20,000 years ago at Chirripó National Park. We know the climatological conditions that have normally prevailed in the park during the last decades and how the El Niño-Southern Oscillation shapes the current climate. There are also models to project climate conditions throughout the 21st century in this protected area. Conclusion: There are enough studies to provide a basis for the park’s geo-conservation and to improve its management. |
