Human Trafficking in Female Seasonal Workers and Settlements in Huelva, Spain: New Vulnerabilities, New Challenges

| Diğer Bilgiler: | Human trafficking persists as a dynamic phenomenon, often hidden from view, particularly when it concerns women who, from an intersectional perspective, face multiple forms of discrimination. The settlements in Huelva exemplify a multifactorial reality of vulnerability for migrant women, where sexual exploitation remains invisible and demands thorough examination. The aim of this study is to identify the risks of recruiting victims of sexual exploitation and to detect potential indicators of trafficking within the socio-cultural exclusion faced by Moroccan seasonal women in the province of Huelva. An ethnographic methodology has been implemented, based on qualitative techniques, including literature review, participant observation, and semi-structured interview. Key social agents and women directly affected by the study's subject are involved. The findings reveal a multifactorial situation of discrimination and inequality among migrant women in the settlements of Huelva, leaving them outside the protection system and increasing their vulnerability, with a serious risk of experiencing violence. The conclusions emphasize the need for new social and political strategies to address this invisible social problem, which should be a priority on the current public agenda. |
