Descripción:This article examines, from a feminist and intersectional perspective, the debates surrounding fatphobia as a system of oppression. It frames the discussion around women, fatness, and sexuality, incorporating a critical engagement with the sciences of nutrition and medicine. The article shows how these bodies of knowledge prescribe norms regarding how fat people should be, exist, appear, and behave, thereby institutionalizing and naturalizing fatphobia. Alongside capitalism, patriarchy, coloniality, heteronormativity, and racism, fat women’s experiences of pleasure become increasingly complex. The article also identifies and recovers the resistances, movements, and activisms of fat women as a front of struggle against normalized forms of violence
