Description:Fossil remains of false gharials or Tomistominae crocodiles, were recovered from fluvial sediments associated with Late Miocene-Early Pliocene sub-aquatic fan deltaic deposits of the Curré Formation, in southern Costa Rica. The record of long-snouted crocodiles from southern Central America allows for a better knowledge of the evolution and composition of the paleoherpetofauna and its paleobiogeographical relationships with North American paleofaunas.
