| Deskribapena: | A description of some characteristics of the plant Quassia amara, including taxonomy, distribution, uses, pharmacognosy and some biological activities, is given. Experimental activities related to ecology, conservation, and domestication in Costa Rica are described. Details of the agro-ecological cultivation, importance of the phytochemical methods, and their applications to control the production of quassin and neoquassins according to the age of the plants are discussed. |
