Popis:Francoise Gigot de la Peyronie first described Peyronie’s disease in 1753. It generally appears on the 4th to the 6th decades of life as an acquired inflammatory disorder, characterized by the appearance of fibrous plaques in the Tunica Albuginea of the penis that causes pain, abnor- mal curvature, deformity, shortening, and in some cases, erectile dysfunction. In advanced cases, sexual activity is impeded. The objective of this review is to present new concepts and advances in treatments, including surgical, non surgical, oral or intralesional, in order to provide an adequate management of the patient, achieve improvement of symptomatology and enhance the quality of life for patients suffering from this disorder
