| Description: | Albinistic specimens are reported in Nicaragua for the first time in two snakes, Boa constrictor imperator Daudin (Boidae) and Leptodeira annulata rhombilera Günther (Colubridae). A previously, reported albinistic Crotalus durissus durissus Linnaeus was reexamined to verify its status. We support the opinion of Hoge that the type of Crotalus pulvis Ditmars ( = Crotalus durissus unicolor van Lith de Jeude) was probably not collected "20 miles inland from Managua, Nicaragua" thus unicolor should be removed from any list of Nicaraguan forms. |
