Disgrifiad:Women, after breaking ties with the privileges and traditions of the Ancient Regime, had been trapped between patriarchal pressures, clerical and other orthodoxies, including the Masonic one. They were exposed to private spaces and unable to enjoy autonomy of opportunities in public spaces. The mutual understanding between the male and female sphere contributed to the progress of Humanity, within the discourse of Maria Deraismes. She, like some other men and women, believed on dignity and human emancipation, she transgressed rules in order to contribute to a more equitable distribution of duties and rights within the family’s private space and public citizenship. The deepest aspect of her words and messages are only accessible and only comprehended to those seeking to understand them with similar heterodoxic views.
