Description:In this study, using an open system of piles, the waste from the Polytechnic Dining Room and guinea pig (Cavia porcellus) and rabbits (Oryctolagus caniculis) excreta were composted, using rice husk mixed with rodents feces as structuring agent. N, P, and K in compost were higher to those established under Spanish legislation. The high temperatures got during thermophilic phase assured sanitization process confirmed by having detected absence of Salmonella, while Composts germination rates, up to 94%, were an indication of absence of phytotoxic substances.
