Contrastive study of the syntactic-discursive characteristics of football narratives in French and Spanish

| Description: | In this study, we identify the most relevant syntactic and discourse characteristics of two football narratives, one in French and the other one in Spanish. Moreover, we determine similarities and differences between both narratives. At syntactic level, we examine the category of person, noun phrases and their corresponding configuration, the use of certain verb tenses, and the repetition of specific words. At discourse level, we analyse monologues and dialogues, the role of silence in particular passages, and the production of rhetorical figures. With this research, we contribute to the study of football discourse in French and Spanish. |
