Descripció:Three sisters, respectively 7, 9 and 12 years old, came to the Pediatric Dentistry Posgraduate Program at the University of Costa Rica in order to obtain dental treatment. They presented a tooth development disorder known as Amelogenesis Imperfecta, furthermore anterior open bite and poor oral hygiene. Their condition were studied under an interdisciplinary approach with the collaboration of the Orthodontics, Periodontics, Prosthodontics and Aesthetic postgraduate programs. The first recommendation of the periodontists was a methodic hygienic program. This was followed by surgical crown lengthening and the teeth were restored with stainless steel crowns, ceromer and resin. Two of them, got a palatal crib as the first orthodontic step to correct the open bite. The 12 year old girl required treatment with desensitizing gel because of the sensitivity experienced resulting from exposed dentin due to the Amelogenesis Imperfecta. The following article presents a brief literature review, describes the treatment performed and a one year follow-up.
