Description:This paper conducts a brief literature review to theoretically articulate a clinical case from the perspective of French psychoanalytic school. The main objective is to unravel the possible causes of the abrupt abandonment of psychoanalytic treatment. It is expected to be of interest and matter of debate to colleagues working in the clinical field. Ideas such as resistance, acting out, and transference are discussed, exploring their relevance in the therapeutic process. Furthermore, the role of therapist interpretations and their relationship with the establishment of transference is analyzed. The importance of understanding the opportune moment to intervene (timing) and the need to avoid premature interpretations that may interfere with the therapeutic process are emphasized.
