To do this, colonial protocols containing the “last will” of women who led their lives and productive activity in the context of livestock farming are used. It is concluded that those manifested in the testamentary clauses provide us inputs to interpret the religious imaginary and the active participation of women within the livestock activity of the northern Costa Rica in the eighteenth century.
