Cur Síos:This article portrays the experiences of a reflective process of a collective knowledge construction, carried out from August 2015 to July 2017 with leaders, institutional actors, and young people from the “Bribri” indigenous communities of “Sepecue”, “Shiroles”, “Suretka,” and “Bambú”. The main conclusion of this study was that suicide within this indigenous territory is the expression of a psycho-social trauma, which is the result of colonization systematic practices (historical, social, political, economic, and cultural practices) that have weakened the “Bribri” cultural identity and their indigenous subjective construction. Nevertheless, this research study also concludes that the cultural connection and reinforcement constitute the ways of resistance to face these issues.
